Beth Gibbons, the vocalist of Portishead, is set to release her debut solo album titled ‘Lives Outgrown’. After a decade in the making, this ten-track LP is scheduled to be released on May 17th, 2024 via Domino. In anticipation of the album, the artist shared a music video for her latest single, ‘Floating On A Moment.’

Collaborating with Simian Mobile Disco co-founder James Ford and former Talk Talk drummer Lee Harris, Gibbons took on the role of producer for this record. ‘Lives Outgrown’ explores profound themes of motherhood, anxiety, and menopause, showcasing Gibbons’ depth and introspection.

Reflecting on her journey, Gibbons shared, “I experienced profound sadness when I realized what life was like without hope. People around me started passing away. In youth, we often believe that things will improve, that we will overcome. But some endings are undeniably difficult to process.” However, she added, “Now that I’ve emerged from the darkness, I firmly believe in the power of bravery.”

To celebrate the release of ‘Lives Outgrown’, Beth Gibbons will embark on an extensive tour across the UK and Europe in May and June 24′. For further details and ticket information, visit her official website here.
