 Acclaimed Chilean DJ and producer Dorian Chavez passed away this past Friday, January 19th. After fighting a courageous battle against a prolonged illness, the artist left this world, leaving an irreplaceable void in the music community.

Dorian Chávez was a sonic ambassador who hoisted Chile’s name to the pinnacles of the international electronic scene. A fixture at the iconic Club La Feria for over a decade, he was the linchpin of the local scene, his influence reverberating beyond national borders. His tenure in Spain saw him ascend to prominence at the Macarena Club in Barcelona, imprinting his indelible mark on the European landscape.

A globetrotter in the truest sense, Dorian crisscrossed five continents, leaving his sonic signature at prestigious events like Love Parade in Santiago de Chile, Creamfields in Buenos Aires, the South American Music Conference in Buenos Aires, and Magik Garden in Santiago de Chile. His exceptional prowess behind the decks afforded him the privilege of gracing stages at iconic venues such as Pacha in Barcelona, Luciano & Friends in Barcelona, D-Edge in São Paulo, and a myriad of others.

Beyond the turntables, Dorian Chávez was a tireless champion of the Chilean electronic movement, acting as its envoy to the world and nurturing its growth on home soil. His commitment was laid bare when he joined forces with Ricardo Molinari at the former Radio Pulso, birthing the illuminating program ‘SUPERCLUB.’ Through this sonic sanctuary, Dorian generously shared the wealth of his experience in the beguiling realm of electronic music.
