EG: Hi Felipe! Welcome back to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?
Rivellino: Hello EG family, it is always a pleasure to be with you. The last few days have been crazy to be honest, between music production in the studio, many gigs, and our events with Valhalla and Avalon in Barcelona.
EG: So, ADE is just around the corner, which has us all very excited! What are your plans this time around? What mischief will you be up to?
Rivellino: Well, this time around at ADE, I’ve got a packed schedule! Apart from the usual gigs and networking, I’m also looking forward to attending some intriguing conferences. And as for mischief, who knows what spontaneous adventures ADE might bring, right?
EG: And, of course, you’ll be a part of our ADE Week 2023 Fundraiser, which will take place on Thursday, October 19th, seeking to raise funds for AnimalRIghts.NL! What can we expect from your performance?
Rivellino: I’m thrilled to support such a great cause! During my performance, you can expect a rollercoaster of music, including a bunch of my unreleased tracks that I’ve been pouring my heart into. I’m all about delivering those groovy vibes that will get everyone moving and feeling the rhythm.
EG: Speaking about playing… What track has been doing the rounds the most in your recent sets? Why?
Rivellino: ‘Gotta Cry’ is probably one of my favorite choices. It’s one of my unreleased tracks, and here’s a fun fact – Solomun played it last month at a Bucharest event! He even shared it on his Instagram profile, which is really cool!
EG: Now, you’re about to drop the most epic track at the ADE event. What’s the one dance move you’d bust out when the beat kicks in?
Rivellino: When the beat kicks in, I’ll be breaking out some salsa dance moves with my shoulders and grooving my head to the rhythm.
EG: Speaking about tracks and music… rapid-fire round!
– Current Favorite Banger: Blunts Rolled – Guzy
– Musical Pet Peeve: Reggaeton
– I hate it when DJs: Overact
– I love it when DJs: Have a musical line (not a musical genre)
– Guilty pleasure track: Dope Dance – Nandu, Tripolism, Radeckt
– When I’m not sure behind the decks, I reach for: Musumeci
– Your favorite music memory is when: Playing a 6-hour set at an Afterparty in Barcelona from 6 to 12.
EG: What are three essential items you always carry in your DJ bag?
Rivellino: Headphones, USBx4, and Sunglasses.
EG: Amsterdam’s well-known for its coffee shops – if your music was a marijuana strain, what kind would it be?
Rivellino: Good question! I’d say Mamba Negra.
EG: What’s your go-to pre-gig ritual or lucky charm that gets you in the groove?
Rivellino: Ah, my pre-gig ritual! It’s a moment of calm before the musical storm. I like to kick things off with a special cigarette to relax, and a cool Gin tonic to get into the groove. It’s like a little tradition that helps me set the mood just right.
EG: Most importantly, if you could have a holographic DJ battle with any historical figure, who would it be, and what’s your secret weapon track?
Rivellino: I’d go for Daft Punk (if you can consider them historical figures), and I’d let them win.
EG: Finally, what’s the one thing you’re most looking forward to at Electronic Groove’s ADE Week event this year?
Rivellino: To play alongside the Secret Guest that is a BOMB.
EG: Thank you for your time, we can’t wait to catch up at our ADE Week event! See you soon!
Rivellino: Thank you guys too! Can’t wait to see you all!
