‘Act 1.5’ aims to be the most environmentally friendly show of its size ever staged, with the lowest carbon footprint.

After a five-year hiatus from performing in the United Kingdom, Massive Attack, the British musical group, is set to make a grand return with their homecoming show in Bristol next summer. The highly anticipated event, dubbed ‘Act 1.5’, will take place at the city’s picturesque Clifton Downs on August 25th, 2024.
One of the key highlights of the show is its commitment to being the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged. Massive Attack, known for their longstanding climate activism, has collaborated with climate scientists and analysts from the prestigious Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research to ensure that Act 1.5 aligns with their mission.
To achieve this ambitious goal, ‘Act 1.5’ will implement various decarbonization measures. The event site will be powered entirely by renewable energy, showcasing the band’s dedication to reducing primary emissions. Waste removal will be 100 percent zero-to-landfill, and to further promote sustainability, the arena will be meat-free.
Robert Del Naja, a member of Massive Attack, expressed his excitement about the upcoming show and the band’s commitment to addressing climate change. “We’re thrilled to play our home city again and to be able to do it in the right way,” he said. “In terms of climate change action, there are no excuses left. Live music must drastically reduce all primary emissions and take into account fan travel.”
